"Snippets of Broken Pieces"

Eyes cold.  Unmoving.  His spliff clung to his lips like its life depended on it.  He was fixated on her. He saw when she entered. Saw the men grabbing on her as she forced her way to the bar.  He saw she was oblivious to them touching her in private areas. He saw what she really was. A slut. A prostitute. A piece of rubbish that needed to be disposed of. She was lost, never to be found and he would see to it that she paid the ultimate price for her wicked deeds.

He watched her moving with precision through the crowd. She was looking, seeking, searching, he knew – for him.

He grabbed her hand, forcing her toward him.  She pressed her body into his in acknowledgement causing sensations to erupt within her.

"He saw what she really was..."

    Honest, Heart-Centered Poetry

Sabbi B. Conscious’ Consciously Uncovering Me, Through Poetry is a tender, heartfelt, and deeply moving collection. I found myself tearing up more than once because the poems feel so honest and relatable, and once I started reading, I truly did not want to stop. It is the kind of book that keeps drawing you in, where each poem makes you want to continue to the next. I also appreciated how creative and engaging the interior is, which added to the overall reading experience and made it feel even more intentional. One line that especially stayed with me was, “I’m invisible to you / Truth is, I’m invincible and you knew… / All along,” because it captures such a powerful shift from feeling unseen to reclaiming strength and self-worth. My favorite poems were “Nothingness,” “The Game,” and “Imperfect Me,” and I admired how they explore vulnerability, healing, and personal growth with so much clarity. What I loved most is how the writing feels both personal and universal at the same time, like you are reading someone’s truth while also recognizing parts of your own. This collection is beautifully written and emotionally resonant, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who enjoys poetry that speaks directly to the heart and stays with you long after you finish reading.
